The project’s aim is to provide a centrally located purpose-built building to accommodate a range of existing non-profit community based human service organisations.

The Cooloola Community Facilities Project is a dynamic and innovative project which deserves support.

It is proposed to develop a new model in service delivery for effectiveness in community service provision and in client satisfaction and outcomes.

The concept of a one-stop shop will make accessing services much easier for clients and resource sharing between tenants will lead to efficiency and cost effective management.

The culture of the building will enhance a holistic team approach and provide a supportive environment both for workers and clients.

We believe that this centre will build social capital within the Cooloola Shire thus building the coping capacity of the whole community.

The building will:

  • Provide for effective and secure operation of tenant organisations.
  • Capable of accommodating existing and future needs
  • Designed to address the need of clients from infants to the elderly, able and disabled
  • Designed to maximize resource sharing between groups and organisations with similar needs
  • Visually and functionally integrate with existing community infrastructure
  • Managed to ensure integrity of purpose and continuity of service.
  • Centrally located
  • Security of tenure
  • Model of service delivery in co-location
